Hi, it’s been a while. I haven’t updated my art accounts in about 3 years. Here’s why:
One being life, I’m constantly busy with college, my job, and personal issues that I just didn’t have the time or energy to post
I also was dealing with very bad burnout when it came to art, but I’m slowly get motivated and inspired again.
But the main reason for my inactivity on my art accounts was I wanted to revamp my art accounts and create a new my artist-name.
Why I’m Changing My Artist-Name…
My previous artist-name Charlie-Talented was based on middle school nickname. I created my first art account when I was 13 and didn’t put much thought into my artist-name. I chose Charlie-Talented because it was convenient. But the name was doomed from the start, quickly become outdated and unfitting after a few years. I’ve contemplated changing my artist name many times over the years. And finally in 2019, I decided I no longer wanted my art to be associated with the name Charlie-Talented and that it was time to change and rebrand myself. My new artist-name will be Cherisenae. I created the name Cherisenae by combining the words “beloved” and “art” from two different languages that I liked. But since I messed around with spelling so much for my favorite pronunciation and spelling of Cherisenae it’s just nice sounding gibberish now.
My Revamp Plans:
Old art will remain untouched, so they’ll still have my old watermark on them. However, all new artwork will have my new artist-name, Cherisane, as the watermark.
My old art will be moved into scraps or a single folder on DeviantArt. For Tumblr, I either retire my current blog and move or just revamp it.
My Instagram and DeviantArt will only have finished works, while my Tumblr will have everything, including my sketches and wips.
I will only post art when I feel like it. Previous attempts at a schedule only resulted in failure. I’ll try to post more frequently.
I plan on doing the bulk of the revamp over the summer.
Going Forward…
Now you know why I’ve be inactive. Posting and worrying about the algorithm can also be rather exhausting. Therefore, the purpose of my art accounts from now on will to be online portfolios. Likes and follows will just be added bonuses. This way I can continue investing most of my time and energy on myself, my art, writing, hobbies, education, career, and dreams.
